Testing & Quality Control

Our forgings are inspected to ensure a high level of quality at every manufacturing step. We control the whole process of delivered products and ensure the full traceability.
We conduct the preliminary and final inspection tests according to international standards, under the supervision of the important working inspections authorities such as bureau Veritas, DNV, GL, ABS, Lloyd’s register, RINA, TUV and many more.

Non-destructive tests

Our technicians and engineers with SNT-TC-1A LEVEL 2 and 3 and EN 473-03 qualification perform the non-destructive tests such as:

  • Penetrant test
  • Magnetic particle test
  • Ultrasonic test
  • Endoscope test of deep boring
  • Visual and dimensional test
  • Residual magnetic test

Equipment for tests in Laboratory for Testing metals and Measurmements

  • Zwick Z600 tensile testing machine
  • Charpy impact testers (450J, 300J)
  • Hardness testers (Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers
  • Stationary and portable optical microscopes
  • Equipment for residual stress
  • Laboratory furnace for heat treatment

Scope of tests in Laboratory for Testing metals and Measurements

  • Tensile tests ( from 20 °C up to 900 °C )
  • Impact tests ( from -180 °C up to 180 °C ), FATT, LE
  • Residual stress test according to ring-core method
  • Hardness according to Brinell, Rockwell and Vickers methods
  • Macrostructure tests – deep etching, blue fracture, Baumann test
  • Microstructure tests – grain size, cleanliness of steel
  • Jominy test

Laboratory for Testing Metals and Measurements meets requirements of standard PN-EN ISO/IEC 170125 and is accredited by the Polish Centre of Accreditation No. AB019.

Equipment for chemical analysis

  • Portable spectro-port
  • Fix SpectroMaXx
  • Nitron analyzer
  • Spectro Isort

Chemical Laboratory performs chemical analyzes of samples from the steelmaking process, but also the following tests for:

  • All materials used in production (scrap, ferro-alloys, fluxes, carburizers, lime etc.)
  • Finished products
  • Waste (dust, slag)
  • Physical and chemical properties (density, moisture, active lime)
  • Samples for estimating emissions of carbon into the atmosphere.

Chemical Laboratory carry out their own research and it is accredited by the Polish Centre of Accreditation No. AB018.
